German term

Aufsohlung

German to English Tech/Engineering Textiles / Clothing / Fashion shoe modifications
I am working on a text that involves modifications to shoes. Not a huge amount of context, but I can say that this is a second shoe modification variant designed to increase sole width, and the first one is "Erhöhungseinlage", which is a removable measure, so I'm assuming that "Aufsohlung" is a permanent one. Anyone know what the English term is?

Thanks for your help.

A definition of sorts Die beste Lösung bei ungleicher Beinlänge (Beinlängendifferenz)
Normalerweise wird eine Beinlängendifferenz durch Schuheinlagen oder Sohlenverstärkungen erreicht (Aufsohlen).

That might be what you are looking for:

"Once the legs have been measured by a member of the medical community, we will assess as to the appropriate way to address the difference. These modifications could be in the way of a full sole, heel to metatarsal joints, or as simple as putting a heel lift inside the shoe under the insole."

Or rather: "elevated full sole"

"Elevations or lifts are used to balance leg length discrepancies in patients. They are done on one shoe only and can be elevated full sole or heel only or a combination of both. The patient should only do this when functional (non-structural) leg length differences can't be accommodated for such as with physiotherapy."

... or rather: "full sole buildups":

The last version seems to be frequently used in Australia:
"Some of out footwear modifications include full sole buildups, heel raises, relasting, shoe stretching, medial and lateral flares and buttressing, offloading poron-filled apertures, carbon fibre stiffening, cricket and golf shoe spiking, sports shoe adjustments and every type of rocker sole imaginable."

Another option: "full sole elevation lifts"

"What kind of shoes can you add full sole elevation lifts to?
We are able to add sole elevation lifts to just about any kind of shoes including sandals, boots, athletic footwear, casual footwear, and dress shoes (with a heel height up to 1’’)."

Resoling

If it's the repair of a shoe sole, then it would be resoling, even if it's just to make the shoe wider. That's my guess anyway.

Sole lifts

Lifts: without even knowing it, many people actually have a shorter leg which manifests itself in knee problems, lower back pain, or foot problems strictly on one foot (usually the longer leg). To rectify this problem, Canadian Certified Pedorthists may insert smaller lifts inside the shoe (internal lifts), up to 3/8" thick. More severe leg length differences can be corrected by the addition of material to the outside of the shoe, as part of the sole (external lifts).

Sole lifts: soling material added to the entire outsole of a shoe worn on the shorter leg to redress and balance leg length discrepancy;
