Dear all,
I'm translating a general analytic technique for the preparation of chemical samples. The following expression crops up a few times when describing how to weigh out the chemicals.
Les pesées doivent être réalisées de façon franche (sans ajouter ou enlever un surplus de poudre).
Weighing must be carried out XXX (without adding or removing excess powder).
I was wondering if there is a specific phrase for 'de façon franche' or if 'carefully' would work?
Any ideas?

To be fair as a chemist I don't understand what this is supposed to mean :( "de façon franche" outside any context means something like "without hesitation", I don't know why it would be used here. The sentence between brackets seems to point out to the fact that wheighing should be done "in one go". I would try to find something along those lines if I were you. In any case this doesn't seem to mean "carefully".
