When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

La procedencia de esta expresión, que se utiliza para manifestar respaldo total a alguien o algo, se remonta a la época en la que se practicaba el juicio de Dios. También conocida como Ordalía, ésta era una institución jurídica que dictaminaba, atendiendo a supuestos mandatos divinos, la inocencia o la culpabilidad de una persona o una cosa -un libro, una obra de arte- acusadas de quebrantar las normas o cometer un pecado.
Esta costumbre pagana, que fue común entre los germanos y otros pueblos antiguos, se ejecutaba de formas muy diversas. No obstante, casi todas consistían en pruebas de fuego.
Ante el tribunal, el acusado debía sujetar hierros candentes o introducir las manos en la lumbre o en una hoguera. Si la persona salía de la prueba indemne o con pocas quemaduras significaba que Dios la consideraba inocente y, por tanto, no tenía que recibir ningún castigo.
