Is there another (something)fassung? I'm guessing there are multiple versions of this device e.g. a hand-held, a fixed, a horsedrawn etc. In which case "-fassung" would denote "version".

I understand your incredulity, but I have a very small part of the manual that deals with safety precautions and setup, both of which are very general and could apply to any number of machines. It unfortunately includes no picture of the machine, and Google has exactly three hits for the thing.
