German term

Abnahmetag

German to English Tech/Engineering Energy / Power Generation Stromvertrieb

Hans-Jochen Trost Sep 9, 2014:
Even over 30 years ago ... industrial customers could plan and predict their electric power consumption, and were enticed to do so by pricing. E.g., the particle physics accelerator lab DESY in Hamburg would in the early 80s not refill their storage rings during the morning and evening rush hours in order to reduce the peak power loads to be provided for by the local/regional power plants. This made life easier on the power generators and saved the customer good money at a very modest operational impact. So those terms and conditions make perfect sense.

It's General Terms and Conditions for business clients for the supply of power.
David Moore (X) Sep 9, 2014:
Hi Sebastian... I'm really a bit surprised at the German, but it LOOKS as if the text means the customer is entitled to notify his anticipated daily (or weekly) power requirements, which have to be declared by a specific time. But this is only a guess in the absence of further context. Is it a power supply contract?

a specific delivery/supply day

I would say

einen jeden = specific/every/each in this context

and "supply day" odd though it may sound would work IMO ... otherwise "day of supply"

neutral Hans-Jochen Trost : Electrical power is not a supply that can be kept on hand like raw material for manufacturing (ignore batteries here), yet that is what your reference addresses.

day's supply

I'd say this is probably what is meant, in that case.
