Catalan term

reflectari

Catalan to English Tech/Engineering Architecture
This is about the apartments created by Barba Corsini in the attic of La Pedrera. It appears twice, and I haven't been able to find what it's referring to. Does anyone have an idea?

"Assaigs amb maó cru vulgar, reflectaris de tota mena, ceràmiques, pedres, pi gallec per algun revestiment."
"Crec que el més gran èxit aconseguit ha sigut amb materials terrosos, particularment amb els reflectaris per la seva qualitat càlida i vibrant."

Mission accomplished :-) Was 'refractory brick' right?
ganzinblau (asker) Aug 4, 2014:
Helena, do you want to submit 'refractory brick' and I will close the question? p.s. Thanks for your help. :)
Helena Chavarria Apr 27, 2014:
@Berni I'm sorry about removing my answer but I had just read a thread in the forum written by a person who was enquiring about what had to be done when none of the answers to a question in KudoZ was suitable, so I thought I would save everyone embarrassment by removing my answer. I had spent a total of over an hour trying to find the correct answer (it was a way of switching off from what I was doing at the time) and after discarding 'refractory bricks' (what I had initially thought) I chose the answer I posted. It's a difficult question to answer mainly because the apartments no longer exist.

Distorting History As an ex-Moderator of this Pair, I must admit that I always disliked people removing their answers. It can lose vital information that may be useful to future searches. It can also distort a discussion where other answers referring to that posting become orphaned and puzzling. Helena, your answer was an intelligent option and backed up by some useful research that might be just what someone else is looking for one day. It is a shame that it has gone.

Unless someone has posted a truly embarrassing misread - then I think they should just leave their offered suggestion. Otherwise we risk re-writing history and 1984 lets us know where that leads us ;)

@ganzinblau I have removed my answer.
Helena Chavarria Apr 27, 2014:
@ganzinblau Refractory bricks was my husband's initial suggestion but after I had visited over 20 websites we came to the conclusion that it had to refer to the Pedrera lamps. However, I agree it's strange to mention lamps in the middle of a list of building materials! I know what refractory bricks are because I teach English in a factory that makes them :)
