Portuguese term

pegamento

Portuguese to English Tech/Engineering vegetative propagation of plants

Michaelis: "a planta pegou bem" -> the plant took on well.

E a porcentagem de pegamento?

Rooting percentage?
Taking on percentage? (argh!)

As usual, the Michaelis should be used with a grain of salt:

The plant TOOK WELL and NOT took ON well.

Here are examples with percentage of takes, which for your purposes, you can say: percentage of rooting takes. IMO, since one already knows what you are talking about, just percentage of takes is enough.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Yes, Jane, I'll take it. :) I suspected there would be a solution like the one you proposed, but when you're not a native speaker it's not always easy to arrive at it without help. Subtleties like this can get you all tangled up... I really appreciate it. Have a great day. HS"
