Spanish term

inversionista agente

Spanish to English Other Accounting Taxation
Hello everyone!

Hope your doing fine; here's my question: I'm translating a financial statement and find this term: inversionista agente, along with inversionista principal.
The context is this:

"El principal es un inversionista con derecho a tomar decisiones sobre la entidad en que participa; por su parte, el agente es una persona o entidad que toma decisiones actuando en nombre y en beneficio del principal, por lo cual, éste no puede ser quien ejerza control. La diferenciación entre principal y agente es importante en el proceso de identificación de existencia de poder."

Does anyone have an idea what his terms might mean?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

broker

Could it simply be a broker? I haven't looked any further, just first impression.
Note from asker:
Hi Brian, good night! Broker doesn't sound bad, but I´m not quite sure it applies to the specific context...

investment agent

As a principal-agent dichotomy explained in economics. These are the generic terms used to explain in theory an economic problem (i.e. conflicts of interest) which may be later identified a vast number of contexts, including investment, such as an investor-broker model, a fund-distributor model, a broker-dealer, etc.

It would be better to use "agent" without "investment".
