Не уверена, как лучше перевести «загрязнение» в следующем контексте:
Произвести внешний осмотр сепаратора на предмет отсутствия механических повреждений, загрязнений и инородных тел на рабочей поверхности кассеты магнитных стержней.
contamination, по-моему, относится к загрязнениям в самом материале, а здесь речь идет о поверхности, но назвать какой-то конкретный вид загрязнений здесь тоже вряд ли получится.
