Hard to be sure with so little context to go on.
If this is a US document, then the measurement in 'inches' is plausible; however, if it is European, then it might simply mean the preposition 'in', which would completely change the meaning. Do you have other dimensions expressed in in, inches, or " ?
It's not obvious to me why these switchers would have a 6" pitch — or is it the cables? All pretty puzzling without more context!

OK, so it would indeed appear to be a dimension in inches. I can only assume that these 'link cables' are spaced on a 6-inch pitch for ezasier access, though it still seems slightly odd; but there are loads of examples that seem to confirm this.
