Colloquium This is used a lot in academia in the UK/US. It lends a kind of status to the proceedings, I guess. I think it would probably suit this context if it is a prestigious national or international architectural competition. If not, then a bit too hochgestochen.

colloquium well, I found plenty of hits for colloquium, but like Phil said, meeting does it as well, but it is not the awarding session in this case, but the initial meeting to discuss the details before continuing the selection process. Interim colloquium also comes up.

I'm not convinced anyone uses the word colloquium these days. The Ausgabe presumably refers to the award of the contract to the winning entry. There are lots of different ways you could translate this - question and answer session, perhaps, or just meeting.

initial colloquium not found a direct translation, but from the gist of things, architectural competitions start off with a colloquium where the initial designs are discussed, followed by a "Zwischenkolloquium" and so on, so I would keep it basic and say initial colloquium. hope that helps!
