I'm translating a set of articles of association and they all have sections on the Трудовий колектив, which I have translated as Workforce. This last one has two words I'm not really comfortable with, so I'll ask them as two separate questions. Here is the context for both.
My feeling is that here the Articles are referring to a works council (German Betriebsrat), so I'm proposing to translate it as "(council)". Is this correct?
Повноваження трудового колективу реалізуються, загальними зборами (**конференцією**) та їх виборним органом, члени якого обираються таємним голосуванням на зборах (**конференції**), трудового колективу строком на 2-3 рохи не менш як 2/3 голосів. Членів виборного' органу не може бутизвільнено з роботи або переведено на інші посади з ініціативи Директора ТОВАРИСТВА без згодивідповідного виборного органу цього колективу.

First of all, I would call "трудовий колектив" - "employee association", following this definition:
"(Business / Industrial Relations & HR Terms) an organization, other than a trade union, whose members comprise employees of a single employing organization. The aims of the association may be social, recreational, or professional"
Then "general meeting" seems like an obvious equivalent for "загальні збори"

I apologize, now I see that I haven't quite answered the question about "конференція", focusing too much on my thought about the workforce. "Council" is probably acceptable. I would probably go for "Assembly"

| I'm stuck with "workforce" because I've delivered some translations already! Also, the meaning of трудовий колектив varies, and sometimes it does refer to the workforce in general. So (using Russian examples from Multitran), we have отношения с трудовым коллективом and льготы членам трудового коллектива, which do not really refer to members of the works council, but to the workforce in general. I'll think about "assembly", but may stick to "council" |

виборний орган=elected body/works council/Betriebsrat
It is this third body which exercises the political power and represents the workforce.
