I would have a go at translating this but I really am unsure of how to begin, it's not something I've come across before. I consulted various online dictionaries and terminology databases, all to no avail. I've had a lot of problems with this document, as in parts it is poorly written, for example 'nouveaux process'.

I'd like to thank everyone who offered help it has been useful. I have now submitted the translation, I am not entirely happy with it but the ST was very poorly written so it proved very tricky.

rebonds I was thinking along the same lines Nikki, using "repercussions" for rebonds... until I checked with French colleagues, who weren't sure either way and blasted the whole phrase (in the ST)!

I like the first part of Daryo's suggestion.
I think "rebond" means "matters arising" implying necssity, urgency, the need to deal with important issues which might arise during the absence of a colleague. I don't think the "rebond" refers to the nature of a colleague's absence, nor him bouncing back into the office! Yes, I like Daryo's "backlog" and my "matters arising"!

I like Daryo's solution of deal with backlogs or follow ups of cases of absent colleagues. It makes sense when following on from 'dealing with our own cases'. So basically deal with own cases then the cases of absent colleagues, the two things connect. Thanks everyone.

@james That sounds possible. "Rebond" in the sense that they are repeatedly absent. "Tardiness and repeated absences of colleagues."

For further context this is about a legal inquiries team who deal with requests from clients relating to tax investigations, divorce investigations and judicial investigations. I hope that makes sense. Yes there are quite a few borrowed English words, more than I usually find in French documents.

And when English words are pinched, they are often corrupted in their singular/plural forms : un cookies, un brownies, des process, un jogging, un footing etc. Yeuch!

I go along with the general idea as posted by Timothy but would prefer more context. By the way, English words are quite commonplace in techie contexts, and this is one of them. "Process" is used here, there and everywhere in French !

This just one interpretation but I'm not 100% sure about the meaning of 'rebonds' here. I wonder if they mean 'rebondissements', i.e. sudden new developments which change a situation?
