quotation

Turkish to English Art/Literary Poetry & Literature
I need to know if the following is a quotation?
"Sizinle aynı kandan gelmiyorum. Aranızda doğmuş olmam sadece
bir tesadüf. İçinizdeki ölüm korkusunu pışpışlayabilmek için
doğurduğunuz çocuklardan biriyim. Gene de ölümden kaçamadığınızı
görünce, yenisini yapmak üzere kaderine terk ettiğiniz çocuklardan
biri.

Depends :)

If you are translating Bit Palas by Elif Şafak, then, to the best of my knowledge, it is not a quotation.

Not-a quotation

Pesismist olduğundan bunu quote etmez kimse ama
Mevlana'nın meşhur dizeleri 'Baza Baza! - Gel yine gel!' İranlı bir şahısdan quote edilmiştir.
Selamlar,
Adını zikrederseniz sevinirim.
Selamlar,
Aziz

No, I am not joking.
1) No, this is not a quotation.
2) The famous lines of Mevlana which goes 'Baza baza' is known to belong to Mevlana but it isn't. It belongs to an Iranian poet mystic.
I was wondering if you could remind us all what his name was.
That is all, I hope it is clear.
Best,
Aziz
Note from asker:
Dear Aziz Kural, Frankly speaking I cannot understand your explanation! Are you joking or what? If this (non)quotation has anything to do with Mevlana?!!!
As my googling shows (I did not know myself) these lines belong to Abu-Said Abul-Khair.....
(and) Thanks for clarificaiton :-)

Alıntı

Please note Neighbour that any word, phrase or sentece indicated in quotation mark (" ....") is either an Order, Recommendation, Wish or Quotation/Extract, as the case might be.
Note from asker:
Dear Salih, I have added the quotation mark to clearly mark the material. There is no quotation mark in the original book. It is just Italic!
Peer comment(s):

disagree Kim Metzger : Quotation marks most certainly do not indicate orders, recommendations or wishes.

Indeed! You have misunderstood! ordering/commanding words etc. are shown in quatation mark, no idea "If it is unavailable" in German I know some though!
