French term
n'énervent en rien
French to English
Law/Patents
Law (general)
From legal submissions in Luxembourg. This seems to be used often according to google searches, but I can find no satisfactory translation for it.
"Les dernières conclusions notifiées par XXX et YYY **n'énervent en rien** la position de la partie concluante."
I am thinking that it is something like they do not justify or explain??
Anyone come across this before?
Another example found from Belgium:
"Attendu quant au fond que les explications formulées par le failli n’énervent en rien
les motifs énoncés dans le jugement dont opposition"

Comment: "I went with "do nothing to undermine the position".
Thanks to both for your suggestions - I was clearly on the wrong path and you both helped me to make sense of it!"

do not run counter to, do not indispose
There is room for a mistranslation here, which I hope I have avoided, all the more so with the negative form.
