Expansion vessel
A vessel for the temporary **accomodation** of the expansion of water from the unvented hot water storage cylinder as it is heated.

Unvented (closed) hot water storage system
A vessel fed with water from a supply pipe or dedicated storage cistern (without a vent pipe) anda in which water is heated directly or indirectly. Expansion of the water when it is heated is **accomodated** either internally or externally and the system is fitted with a safety device to prevent water temperature exceeding 100°C, and other applicable operating devices to control primary flow, prevent backflow, control working pressure and **accomodate** expansion.

Expansion vessel or some means of **accomodating** the expansion of the water within the vessel (such as a bubble top cyinder).
