vértigo y spinning significan lo mismo. Lo que pasa es que en inglés existen dos palabras. Una de origen latino y otra de raíz anglosajona. Yo emplearía únicamente "vértigo".

For 'spinning' you must use 'vértigo', but be sure to use 'vértigo agudo' for 'acute vertigo'. Even though you have 'or' in the middle, it does not mean they are the same.
