French term

pour chaque départ

French to English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng Technical specifications
Hello again,
Another extract from technical specifications for office building. I'm just not sure quite how to translate "départ", am wondering if "branch" might be appropriate. Many thanks for any help!

Glossary? Did you try a term search, Anne? This term has come up at least once before (I've answered it myself!), so you ought to find the answer you need in the archives.

for each outgoing feeder

"outgoing feeder" used by most of the LV equipment suppliers
Peer comment(s):

agree Tony M : Personally, I'd prefer to use 'outgoing feed', but 'feeder' is certainly used as well.

outgoing cable

Peer comment(s):

neutral Tony M : I wouldn't favour the use of 'cable' here, which emphasizes the physical embodiment of the idea of 'départ', whereas here, we are more interested in the abstract notion.
