An idea 'sand carrier loading point'? Gets precious few Ghits (none as a collocation), but does at least sound plausible :-(

The picture shows a sort of square platform at sea and a very narrow pipe or some such jutting out from the shore to just off this platform.
My thoughts are it's a place where sand carriers are filled with sand from onshore. However is there a word for this in English?

Sounds like... ...it might be a specific berth for shaips / barges carrying sand; could it be sand from dredging operations, perhaps (I know that is usually dumped at sea, but maybe some places recover it...?)

(or of course it might sometimes be a dischaging/unloading point — and some of them even seem to be both!)

However, haven't been able to find any solid refs. for this as a whole collocation in your context; the 'sand carrier' bit is no problem, but variants on 'loading point / station / berth' turn up lots of red herrings but precious few really relevant hits.

Proceed with caution!
