Fahraggregat

German to English Tech/Engineering Automotive / Cars & Trucks Bus body/floor assembly components
Die Antriebs- und *Fahraggregate* sind in einer Bodengruppe zusammengefasst und mit der selbst tragenden Karosserie zu einer gesamten Einheit verbunden.

My first thought for "Fahraggregat" was "running gear" (i.e. Fahrgestell), but does that form part of the sort of monocoque structure being described here? I'm running out of ideas as to what might be combined to form part of a floor assembly / body platform (Wyhlidal) ...

Thanks to everyone for their input. The term was referred back to the client, who replied as follows: "Ich würde das als Antriebsstrang (Motor, Getriebe, Antriebsachse) übersetzen (driveline oder drive train)". It sounds like we are getting close to a hendiadys, as has been suggested, though it is odd that the original text says these two elements are combined, which would be hard to do if only one element were being described. I wonder if "drive assembly and drive train" is actually meaningful, assuming that the German itself is, as written.

Drive train In view of the problems DavidSEG discusses it might be felicitous to consider the entire phrase "Antriebs- und Fahraggregatte" to be a hendiadyion and translate it with one term such as 'drive train'

For me the idea of Antriebs- und Fahraggregate is drive and transmission unit, if I had to make an entry into a dictionary for this I would say:

Antriebsaggregate - drive unit
Fahraggregate - drive unit

Taking them both together gives me the idea of drive and transmission unit. I could not find a direct translation anywhere, maysome other colleague could help. Sorry if I cannot me more specific.
Example sentence:

The drive and transmission unit combine to a substructure along with the supporting chassis to form a complete unit.
