French term
maison de gardien
French to English
Marketing
Real Estate
One of the selling points of a large property.
I understand the meaning, being the French equivalent of the gatehouses that English country estates would have. What I'm not so sure about is an accurate translation, as gatehouse is perhaps slightly too culturally-specific to describe the French meaning, whilst something like "caretaker's cottage" may not mean enough to UK readers.
Any thoughts gratefully received.
