It looks as if there were points the Mortgage Co., either verbally or in written form, answered for the applicant, NOT necessarily regarding him/herself, i.e. points OTHER THAN PERSONAL, so '..σχετικά με εσάς??'
Δηλ., προσωπικα, βλεπω το ζητημα να ειναι στο 'με' και το 'σε' !!!!! Αν ειναι 'με' επρεπε να λεγει, π.χ. regarding you(rself)

The question was on an Inland Revenue form and NOT a Mortgage Company, as said on top.

Having looked at Mr. Mohay's suggestions I agree with his explanations, namely, 'points' refer to an initial 'payment' by a borrower to a lender to lower the Interest to be paid subsequently. Being deemed as an 'advance interest payment' the IRS allow it as a deductible expense. So, <points reported to you on Form 1098> ??? Another American way of making Money!!!!!
MY SUGGESTION IS TO LEAVE IT AS IS, i.e< ποιντς δηλωθεντα στο εντυπο....> and the praise and prize should go to Mr. Mohay.

What Are Mortgage Interest Points?
Overview – A mortgage point is money paid upfront in return for a lower interest rate on the mortgage. Depending on how long you will be in your home, paying points may save you a great deal of interest charges in the long run.
Function – One point is equal to 1 percent of the total loan amount. The amount of reduction in your interest rate that paying points can provide varies among lenders.

For the purposes of a tax deduction, mortgage interest includes the interest and points on a primary residence. The term “points” refers to interest that is paid at the time the mortgage is secured to reduce monthly mortgage payments.

I use Turbo Tax and it states, if you paid more interest than your Form 1098 shows, you must attach a statement to your tax return that explains why you can deduct more than your lender reported on your Form 1098.

: You could very well be right here, Andras. It is confusing as to whether, 'points' should go with "Mortgage Inerest AND points' or it should refer to points 1,2,3....on the form. The meaning changes completely from one to the other.
