Machining or Finishing Allowance
(amount of material left)
i.e. Sand castings generally have a rough surface sometimes with surface impurities, and surface variations. A machining (finishing) allowance is made for this type of defect.

working clearance
The term 'työvara' is here used defering to excavation.
Here
http://www.rts.fi/infraryl/INFRA_maaramittausohje_ver1_0.pdf
'työvara' is defined as: "Työvara on kallioleikkaukseen, maanalaiseen kalliorakenteeseen, kanaaliin tai kaivantoon tulevan rakenteen tekemiseksi tarvittava kallion ja rakenteen ulkoreunan välinen asennusvara, jonka vähimmäisarvot on ilmoitettu rakennusosien mittaussäännöissä."

term "working clearance" is used in the same meaning (you can find even a picture of it in this document).

My deepest apologies, I think I rushed this as well, I think in this instance we indeed refer to Working space allowance. Excavation is measured by volume and the quantities are given in the Bill of Quantities in m3. Excavation is measured the net size of the excavated void with no allowance for working space. The volume being that before the material is excavated. I did not enter this into Glossary, and I am happy to ask the support staff to revoke the points, I am more interested in the correct terms.
