Hi, This is the first I post something on this form.
I am writing an essay on audiovisual translation, and I am focusing on the difficulties in translating culture-specific references.
I am analysing an English movie, where are visible signs in the streets,name of shops etc.. which are written in English, and I am commenting the on the suspension of disbelief, when the Italian audience realises that the signs are in English and the dialogues in Italian.
To cut the long story short,
I would like to find out whether there is an equivalent in Italy for the English institution of Citizen Advice bureau CAB, which is present in many English speaking countries.
Is there a direct equivalent? or is there some sort of Ufficio which could have similar duties?
