Serbian to English Art/Literary Religion Hagiography
Sve ovo premnogo čovekoljubno Božje staranje za nas, izvodilo je tako sa svim promislom svoje premudrosti. Jer tako mu pripremaše ulaženja odozdo naviše.

Sorry it is so long it did not make sense otherwise! Thank you all! This is from the biography of Saint Sava by Theodosius (just after Sava has been asked by his brother to stay on in Studenica and not return to the Holy Mount). Thanks, all!!

Vi ste svi divni i hvala Vam najlepse na pomoc!!!!

Any time I'm sticking to my version though :)
Kayus (asker) May 3, 2012:
I thought that would be the approximate translation (figuratively) as it says 'pripremase odozdo' (so from below to higher things'. Thanks for your help.
Vesna Maširević May 3, 2012:
Why "preparing him for greater things." ?

All this immense, manloving God's taking care about us had performed its wisdom in His own way.

On pripremaše, kao Bog? Ulaženja kao odlazak u carstvo nebesko? Samo razmišljam naglas.

Ne može sve stati u polje target term pa evo ovdje.

All this immense, manloving God's taking care about us had performed its wisdom in His own way. Because in that manner he prepared the entrances from below.
Note from asker:
Thank you so much Milena! Actually this is Saint Sava's biography by Theodosius and he has just been persuaded by his brother to stay on in Studenica and not go back to Athos. Does that help clarify anything? I am most grateful to you. Kayus
My translation is this: All God's love and concern for us led through the path of providence and wisdom, preparing him for greater things.

For in this way all the immense God’s (man-)loving care for us revealed with all the providence of His divine wisdom. For thus they prepared for Him the entrances from the bellow to the above.

(M.Benson ~ promisao; proviđenje = providence)

It attests: The above from the below, and the below from the above -the work of the miracle of the One.

God's loving care for us is called Divine Providence, His plan for guiding creatures to their proper end.

Re. my question about the greater things...
ulaženja odozdo naviše = I believe it does not have some ambiguous meaning but that it's about entrance into Heaven from Earth (like in the Bible quote)

Thank you so much for the translation and the appended texts. Kayus
