Dear Colleagues,
I need your help on finding out what the following abbreviations stand for: **fest. pos.".
Actually I think that "pos." means "position".
I'm translating an Excel document with rows of commands and messages to be viewed on the screen of an EXTRUDER, so I can't give you much context....
LH winder 3 **fest. pos.**
RH winder **4 fest. pos.**
These terms come up repeatedly, the only things that change are LH and RH (left handle, right handle) and the winder number.

My guess is that the extruder also performs festoon decoration. In fact, "festoon" seems to appear in various types of manufacturing processes.
I agree with you that "pos." probably is short for position.
Suppose LH and RH stands for left and right hands, probably the command lets you specify the festooning position in left hand and right hand sides.

But was the document in German, and if so, why would someone bother to change the Pos. to a small letter but not translate feste to fixed. And why would feste be abbreviated to fest. anyway, since it is not shorter.
In English there are no words that I can think of that would be abbreviated as fest.
