Gå troll i ord

Norwegian to English Art/Literary Idioms / Maxims / Sayings
My mind is blanking out at the moment. If anyone could help me out with a corresponding expression in English, it would be much appreciated. :o) Thank you!

or what about... 1) "Be careful what you say; your words may come back to haunt you"
2) "Be careful what you say; your words might come back to bite you in the ass"

"Troll i ord" means that something might come true and often in a negative way. "Gå troll i ord («det som blir sagt går i oppfyllelse»)" http://decentius.hit.uib.no/lexin.html?ui-lang=nbo&dict=nbo-...

In other words, be careful not to jinx it...

Note that this is context dependent, so a more formal version might be needed, i.e. "be careful what you say - it might come true".
