German term

Gutstunden Schichtbeleg.

German to English Law/Patents Law (general) German Labor Law
part of the "Zeitkontingente": different categories of accumulated working /free hours at the job, from a German Pay Roll statement.
Definition: Zeitkontingent: Vorgabe einer Zeitspanne, in der der Mitarbeiter unter bestimmten Voraussetzungen an- oder abwesend sein darf. http://www.enzyklo.de/Begriff/Zeitkontingent

Gutstunden are overtime hours that have to be deducted from the regular working hours or have to be compensated, usually at a higher pay rate.
I believe Schichtbeleg. stands for Schichtbelegschaft (the staff working a shift, shift staff??)
TIA

feedback Solved it as: Credited Extra Hours as per Shift Ledger
dkfmmuc Mar 19, 2012:
No period after beleg The word "beleg" is normally not an abbreviation of a longer phrase. Therefore there is no need for a period except you use it at the end of a sentence.

And sorry for the late answer, my office is normally closed on weekends.
Bernhard Sulzer (asker) Mar 19, 2012:
correction my term in question should read: Gutstunden Schichtbel., not Gutstunden Schichtbeleg. - therefore I am fairly certain the bel. stands for "-beleg" as in record/documentation etc.
Bernhard Sulzer (asker) Mar 15, 2012:
Definition Gutstunde http://www.edlohn.de/portal/dokumentation/beschreibungen/bau...
Gutstunde - vorgearbeitete Zeit
Minusstunde - nachgearbeitete Zeit
Bernhard Sulzer (asker) Mar 15, 2012:
Gutstunden other KudoZ entry: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/german_to_english/human_resources/...
hours owing / hours owed
Bernhard Sulzer (asker) Mar 14, 2012:
Thank you. dkfmmuc. Why would there be a period at the end of ..beleg? That's what confused me. Your explanation certainly makes sense.
dkfmmuc Mar 14, 2012:
Documentation of working hours of a shift The Schichtbeleg shows who has worked how many hours during his shift. This is an essential piece of paper for calculating the correct wages due to the fact that German law knew and knows surcharges for night hours, public holidays and so on.
