French term

PCN /PCD

French to English Tech/Engineering Construction / Civil Engineering Building Plans
Hello all,
This comes from a document on an office development in Paris. I'm having problems finding these acronyms and am not sure whether I can leave them as they are or not. Many thanks for any help.

Tony M Feb 17, 2012:
@ David Yes, 'N' for 'Normal' is perfectly usual as I pointed out below; what is less usual, however, is the 'D' for some kind of back-up supply, if indeed that's what this is.
David Hayes Feb 17, 2012:
I think the answerer has actually hit upon the right answer. My guess is that the 'N' is a variant ('normal' instead of 'standard')

Tony M Feb 17, 2012:
PC 'Prise de courant' is logical enough, and N for Normal too; but 'détrompé' seems on the face of it surprising in this context, since they mention onduleurs. I'd have expected e.g. 'S' for 'secouru', but either 'D' maybe some other term meaning the same thing, or it is a related term.

Try and glean extra clues from elsewhere in your text.

neutral Tony M : Unlikely, given the context — these seem to be actual concrete, physical items of equipment.

Prise de courant détrompée

Though I don't know much about electrical installations and note that Tony the guru has discounted this possibility, it gets lots of relevant ghits when looking for PCN and PCD in close association.
