agree Charles Ek : Possibly -- example is in the Swedish and English lists of appetizers at http://tinyurl.com/blghhff. I'd need to see the items in question -- see the note I'm adding re: the distinction between shoots and sprouts. (I fixed that TinyURL -- should work now.

sprouts

See the first link below for Google results for the pairing with "salad sprouts" from a few Swedish sources. However, I would use just "sprouts" on a menu, as at the second link. "Salad sprouts" would be more commonly used in describing the item in another context, as in a list of crops or goods to be obtained -- see http://www.google.com/search?q="salad sprouts"&hl=en&num=10&...

Here's a Swedish menu with just "sprouts" used in its own translation: http://www.sommar.com/clients/eagle/Menysystem/index.asp?lin...

This large produce purveyor in London provides a counterexample: http://www.eurofrutta.co.uk/products/new-organic-produce.htm...
disagree Anna Herbst : "Sprouts" - as in bean sprouts etc - are called "groddar" in Swedish.

lettuce shoots

Sw. sallad = Eng. lettuce
Sw. skott = Eng. shoots

There is a lovely picture of lettuce shoots at http://cookingglutenfree.com/2010/05/pasta-primavera-gluten-...

Har just tittat på din referens som talar om "blandade späda salladssorter", dvs "mixed young lettuce varieties"
