Exciter stool förekommer i en handbok för en synkrongenerator i beskrivningen av den permanenta magnetgeneratorn:

PERMANENT MAGNET GENERATOR
The generator is fitted with a PMG that is located on the exciter base between the exciter and the NDE bearing. The PMG consists of a stator and rotor, both of which are mounted in and are cooled by the exciter air stream.
The PMG rotor consists of a number of permanent magnets fixed to a spider. The spider is keyed and pressed onto the generator shaft and is held in place by the exciter rotor.
The PMG stator is wound with a single- or three-phase winding and is designed to supply the AVR. The PMG voltage and phase information is given on the generator outline drawing which can be found in Section 1- Technical Data. The PMG stator connections are brought out to a small terminal box mounted on the side of the exciter stool.
