"Plugs are artificial lures that are designed to mimic injured or sick fish. They are generally made from plastic or wood and are coloured and shaped to vaguely resemble fish. However, their shape is often less important than their behaviour or action through the water when retrieved.

There are three main types of artificial plug, each with a different action, suitable for various fishing situations. They are, sinking plugs, deep diving plugs and shallow diving plugs."
