English term or phrase: Get real!
i.e. 'accept the truth and don't deceive yourself'. Mainly used as an order: 'You expect me to ignore a comment like that? Get real!' It is the perhaps the equivalent of the related 'face facts'. Voters want Parliament to get real and pass a bill to revive the economy.

There was a great of lively discussion and interest on this entry. I suppose the origin of this phrase is from getting over an illness, hence 'recover from yourself'. Συνέρχομαι also can be used in this sense. I also noted and liked Kyriacos's Ξύπνα. The discussion about σοβαρέψου! / σοβαρευτείτε was also extremely helpful and can be used in English meaning 'face facts.'

get real!
σοβαρέψου! / σοβαρευτείτε!

Explanation:
Back-translation: Get serious! - The term does not overlap fully, but I believe form, actual usage and connotations are very similar. I cannot think of a situation where they wouldn't be almost entirely interchangable.

It leans more towards 'Act more maturely, show more responsibility' but we usually use it as a way to make someone understand they have to change their behavior or accept the behavior of another or a fact / serious situation.
