The following excerpt comes from a document describing testing that was performed on road-paving machinery:
Dazu wurden im Rahmen praktischer Einbaumaßnahmen das Andockverhalten der Lkw sowie unter systematischer Variation der Parameter die Einflüsse aus schwankenden Mischguttemperaturen und *Materialvorlagehöhen* auf das Bewegungsverhalten einer schwimmenden Einbaubohle untersucht.
I am uncertain, in particular, as to what is meant by "vorlage" in the above instance. "Material presentation height" does not sound right. Are they referring to the height at which the material (e.g. concrete) is *fed* to the screed?
