German term

Die hautverwandte Cremegrundlage

German to English Marketing Cosmetics, Beauty Health/Beauty
Hi all -

I am translating some phrases for a beauty cream manufacturer and they use this phrase as a description which I somehow have to render into English as a kind of catch phrase.

The words appear again as:
"Die Cremegrundlage setzt sich aus hautverwandten Inhaltsstoffen zusammen"

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Discussion

phillee Jan 2, 2011:
I think they are referring to the 'natural' lipids (posh word for fats) that are similar to those found in skin. If there is no definitive term for this, I would rephrase it to something like 'the base contains (natural) ingredients similar to those found in the skin'.
writeaway Jan 2, 2011:
sorry-I wasn't referring to the answers here I meant what are your own suggestions and have you already rejected any as not suitable?
Michael Meskers (asker) Jan 2, 2011:
No. I have not completely ejected either - there are only two thus far.
writeaway Jan 2, 2011:
What suggestions do you have ? What suggestions do you have -are there any you have already rejected?

Skin-mimicking basic cream ingredients

Not sure if they are talking about a "cream foundation" or about the basic ingredients of the cream (I assume the latter)

"Hautverwandt"- was es ist:
"Die chemische Zusammensetzung der Bestandteile ist hautidentisch oder hautverwandt"

Die Cremegrundlage setzt sich aus hautverwandten Inhaltsstoffen zusammen>>
The basis of the cream is composed of ingredients that mimic the structure of the human skin

skin-identical cream base

...I would say.
Example sentence:

Due to the unique skin identical base SILS (Skin Identical Lipid Structure) Pearltouch penetrates effectively and quickly into the skin and unfolds an intensive and lasting effect.

The objective should be to appropriately balance the respective deficits of fat, fatty acids and moisturizing components with skin-identical base substances.

agree RegineMac : Yes, skin-identical components or ingredients or moisturizing factors.
