La figure 2 illustre les paramètres .. et .. pour le segment rectiligne S1, l'angle .. étant repéré par rapport à l'axe de référence Xo, ou plus précisément par rapport à un axe X parallèle à l'axe Xo, ce qui est équivalent.

In most English maths textbooks, the equivalent to the French phrase using 'repéré' is 'with respect to':
for (line) S1 the angle is determined with respect to the X axis
for (line) S1 the angle is determined with respect to the X axis

: In the example you give, the word "determined" is the equivalent of "repéré".
