Russian term

СМОТ

Russian to English Social Sciences Human Resources Incentive systems
Система мотивации и оплаты труда. I know what it stands for, but am interested in whether there's a set term in English, used as its equivalent, and if that has a usual acronym. Or, am I free to call it a Labor Incentive and Remuneration System (LIRS)?

The only relevant acronym in the Acronym Finder is PBIS - Performance-Based Incentive System. But that's different. Here you have "incentive and remuneration," which is a rather common h.r. phrase. There's a not very inspiring single match for "employee incentive and remuneration system," but no such acronym.

In my text, they use this acronym for pages on end.

P4P

An Incentive Program is a formal scheme used to promote or encourage specific actions or behavior by a specific group of people during a defined period of time. Incentive Programs are particularly used in business management to motivate employees, and in sales in order to attract and retain customers. The scientific literature also refers to this concept as Pay for Performance.

Yes, P4P does only a part, if the most important one, :) of the job.

There is also "Motivation and Reward System" — http://goo.gl/hNY82 — but neither acronymfinder nor acronymattic have M&RS and MRS.
Note from asker:
Thanks, that's an interesting idea. I had thought of P4P as referring to the incentive side, but I suppose that by denoting the variable component of the remuneration formula, it alludes to the system as a whole - both the fixed and variable components. Still, if you reverse the look-up, P4P is sometimes defined as "оплата по результатам", which is a bit more specific than this СМОТ is. So, it would make me nervous to insert it in a document which repeats it a lot; and I'm even less enthusiastic about writing a translator's note to try and explain why I'm using the acronym for something that's close, but not quite the same.

4 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Thanks. I ended up writing P4P System after taking advantage of the fact that the document contained a glossary, so what it stands for could be spelled out. And I told the client they could either take it, or make up their own acronym "LIRS". I'm not going to put it in the glossary, only because it's not exactly the same,"
