Russian term

каталожная карточка

Russian to English Art/Literary Photography/Imaging (& Graphic Arts)
These are typical items from a list of photographs in an exhibition:

Тип съемки: натурная.
Фотобумага глянцевая, фотопечать черно-белая.
7.5 х 8 (каталожная карточка 20.5 х 29.1)

Тип съемки: репродукционная.
Фотобумага глянцевая, фотопечать черно-белая.
8.3 х 14.3 (каталожная карточка 19.9 х 29)

What is the каталожная карточка? I could call it a catalogue card, but I hesitate to do that, because the каталожная карточка in each case is apparently bigger than the photograph itself.

Discussion

Dylan Edwards (asker) Nov 26, 2010:
As far as I know (after querying this term with the client), these are cards with high-resolution images on them (photographs and perhaps text), for use in producing the book/catalogue to accompany the exhibition. The equivalent term used by the client is apparently "Photograph Catalogue card size". This may be an errant question, because it seems to be a rather non-standard use of каталожная карточка.
Dylan Edwards (asker) Nov 24, 2010:
Thanks, everyone. I may get some more information from the client tomorrow, but as the moment it looks as if they mean the images which are to be used in the exhibition catalogue...
Andrei B Nov 24, 2010:
Don't hesitate ... because the photographs are apparently parts of catalogue card formats that [may] include caption, text and other data
This is why the cards are bigger

thick paper support

каталожная карточка is a strange way to put this, but what else can it be? It's fairly common, to mount pictures on a kind of support (подложка) and to mention its size in the description.
