check-out / checker-out (n. american) Jaskasklerk Explanation: Just a suggestion - "jastoonbank" and "jastoonbankklerk" or "jaskasklerk". It isn't really an Afrikaans concept, as far as I know, so you might have to just make up a word. The British version might lead you closer to a concept - "cloakroom". So perhaps "jaskamer" - "jaskamerklerk"- I am running out of suggestions! Hoop dit help bietjie. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 5 hrs (2010-10-24 20:15:36 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Ek het ook eers gewonder oor cloakroom, toe gaan kyk ek vir 'n definisie, en waar ons dit ken as "n badkamer, is dit eintlik eerder 'n plek waar jy jou jas of mantel ophang. a room where coats and other articles can be left temporarily http://wordnetweb.princeton.edu/perl/webwn?s=cloakroom A cloakroom, or sometimes coatroom, is a room for people to hang their coats. Typically found inside a large building, such as a gymnasium, classroom or meeting hall, it is long and narrow with plenty of pegs on which to hang coats, umbrellas, and hats. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloakroom |
