Hi,
Does this word mean something like “reading the Qur’ān”?
In Persian the word is تلاوت, and my Persian dictionary says that the words comes from Arabic.
Please let me know the three-letter root the word comes from so I can research it further.
All the best, and many thanks,
Simon

However "تلاوت" is regarded as reading "قرائت" (reading) but "قرائت" is not necessarily "تلاوت" which implies obeying and following Quran
