Entendo que são os acessórios usados pelos guardas ou pelotões de segurança.

OIG Protective Detail?
In my wanderings through our nations capitol I often happen upon wonderous things. The other day I came across a protective detail( earpieces, small motorcade etc.). My first thought was Secret Service(naturally). Upon closer inspection and after a few well placed questions, I discovered that they were with the Dept. of Agriculture. They were with the USDA Office of Inspector General. A few minutes later I ran into a group of similarly dressed men. I assumed the were USDA OIG, boy was I wrong. These guys were from the Dept. of Commerce. Both groups had a protectee whom I could not identify. The Commerce guys didn't tell me they were OIG, they just said "commerce".

Here comes the question part. Has OIG always done protective details? Do all OIG's do them? Who is protected, the Secretary? What else do they do? Any other relevant information will be greatly appreciated
