Here's the context:
ובשמעם את רעש הסערה
This is mainly a grammatical question as I'm pretty sure (though not certain) that the sentence means something like “and when they heard the noise of the storm”.
However, I would like to confirm that I am on the right track, please, as I can't find any trace of the core word in the group ובשמעם. I would have expected ובשמיעתם since שמיעה is, at least to my knowledge, the verbal noun corresponding to the verb שמע.
I should also be most grateful if someone could indicate the exact pronunciation of ובשמעם.
