From a study of the Erfurt dialect and how Erfurters and Germans from other provinces view it and its speakers

Auch Proband www aus den Altbundesländern führt wie Informant xxx ein Beispiel für einen Beruf an, in welchem ihm die Aussprache nebensächlich erscheint und begründet dies, dass man von dieser Berufsgruppe anstelle einer gepflegten Aussprache Sachverstand erwarte, impliziert damit aber gleichzeitig indirekt, dass es Berufsgruppen gibt, in denen die Aussprache *in den Fokus gerückt*wird:
Votes to reclassify question as PRO/non-PRO:

Non-PRO (1): Jim Tucker (X)

When entering new questions, KudoZ askers are given an opportunity* to classify the difficulty of their questions as 'easy' or 'pro'. If you feel a question marked 'easy' should actually be marked 'pro', and if you have earned more than 20 KudoZ points, you can click the "Vote PRO" button to recommend that change.

How to tell the difference between "easy" and "pro" questions:

An easy question is one that any bilingual person would be able to answer correctly. (Or in the case of monolingual questions, an easy question is one that any native speaker of the language would be able to answer correctly.)

A pro question is anything else... in other words, any question that requires knowledge or skills that are specialized (even slightly).

Another way to think of the difficulty levels is this: an easy question is one that deals with everyday conversation. A pro question is anything else.

When deciding between easy and pro, err on the side of pro. Most questions will be pro.

* Note: non-member askers are not given the option of entering 'pro' questions; the only way for their questions to be classified as 'pro' is for a ProZ.com member or members to re-classify it.

Discussion

What matters is... SusanneM has mentioned the perfect answer while agreeing with a quite different suggestion.
I want to vote for "in which pronunciation matters", because in my opinion this is what people would say. It is more than just being important or being emphasised or being focussed on. If you say that in a particular profession the person's speech "is important", what you really mean is that it matters.
So let's just say that ! Susanne, please post an Answer - or I will !

it matters= it will have an effect on what happens" (my DCE)

Example: "In addition, when the stressed syllable
is placed under focus [...]"
Peer comment(s):

neutral Bernhard Sulzer : I believe this would not be a native speaker's choice (IMO). And if I take your phrases to mean "under scrutiny" then it's not really what is meant here - namely "to be important".
