English term

that’s powerful

English Tech/Engineering Electronics / Elect Eng
Source text: Just set it on top of your satellite or cable box and watch it quick charge. Now that’s powerful.

Question: What is meant to be powerful here? the satellite or cable box is able to charge the remote? the remote control is recharged? Or does it mean the present technology is amazing?

Yes, more context... We really need to know a lot more about the overall system as a whole, and whether there is any specific relationship between the remote control and the satellite receiver etc. in order to work out what this 'marketing hype' is really driving at.

Possibly your last suggestion that the technology is amazing, although without seeing all the text difficult to be certain.

that's amazing

but it is also a word play: something (it's not clear from the context what) is being recharged and will then be 'full of power'.

that’s a powerful solution

I think they just mean that it charges quickly, and that it's easy and handy to do it that way.
It's like saying:
-that's effective
-that’s a powerful solution

Depending on the context, it could also have other meanings. For instance, the remote can be powerful in the sense that it works well, even though you don't point it directly at a TV on close range.

FAR OUT

An amazingly snappy achievement
Example sentence:

Wow, now that is far out!

7 hrs

the fact that it can be recharged a) quickly and b) by simply being put on the satellite/cable box

...is what is powerful. The usual process is presumably more cumbersome and slower.

Both meanings

I think the use of "that's powerful" refers both to the charging speed and to it being amazing.
