From an interview with a researcher for a well-known cosmetics company:
"Je peux parler des innovations. D’abord, ce qu’il a de génial dans la recherche aussi, c’est qu’on touche avec les mains. Donc, en fait, il y a un rapport à la réalité qui nous renvoie un petit peu les choses."
Then he goes on to talk about specific ingredients, plants, etc.
I'm having a complete block on how to express this last bit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Note from asker:
Interesting, thanks. Keeps us grounded is what I had as a tentative solution before posting my question. |

reflects the way things are for us... ;that puts things in perspective for us...
renvoyer can also mean "to reflect" and I think it works in this context

Noémi Ilona Tóth
: I like this and I could use "we can come back to tangible earth"

puts us back in touch with things
It's a bit of a paraphrase but something like "putting us back in touch with the tangible or real things of life" Perhaps someone else might like to elaborate on this!

: I think that keeping the "tactile" bit is important - a looser translation might be "it's a way of being in touch, in all senses of the term"
