hands-free
Yes, hands-free. It refers to the type of card that you keep in your pocket and is picked up by the car when you open the door. If you try to open the door and the key-card is not in the immediate vicinity, it remains locked.
Also, if you start the car and the keycard is not in your pocket or handbag, it will not start. From there, hands-free.

(At this very moment I'm sitting accross from one of the designers of the 1st generation keycards used by Renault)

Note from asker:
Thank you! I was looking for "keycard"... seems some of these French car manufacturing companies have all the latest technology! |

: Exactly! Couldn't put it more clearly if I wanted too... Just make sure you don't leave the card inside the car when you leave it, since there's a security feature that locks all doors after a while if the engine and internal lights are off...

keyless entry remote (fob)
… is what Nissan and Toyota call their systems in the US market. Hands-free is one thing, key-free is even better.
(Although my Prius remote actually includes a backup conventional doorkey, for when the car battery is dead, so it's thicker than a "card". Also, the car is too smart to lock the doors when the remote is left inside it.)
