the haphazard pop dancing troupe
Originally dhamaal is a form of pop dance in India. In this form mostly men participate and dance without any harmony and only to swift drum beatings and verbal uttering, which are mostly celebrations greetings-on particular occasions, festivals- and obeisance to gods and goddesses at temples. In common terminology it also means ruckus or noise or even hopping and jumping.

"As for the meaning of the word itself, there are two complementary definitions in the South Asian world.“In Sufi culture, dhamaal refers to a state of elation you get in response to music,” says Dhruva.“And in South India, dhamaal is an exclamatory term like 'bang!' or 'boom!' or 'pow!' in the comic book sense."
