I'm fine with the first part of this sentence, but I'm not quite sure how the “abi”s and the “rang”s all fit together in the second part.

The adjective "آبی رنگ" here is exactly the English "blue-colored" and "به رنگ آبی بودن" means exactly "to be (the color of) blue." As you see, we can omit "the color of" in English, but you may keep it to resemble the original tone, perhaps.
You may also translate "گلها" as "roses" instead of "flowers."
