Just another suggestion for you to choose from, but this is definitely what you'd find in lots of museums etc. in the UK.

agree asptech : The problem is to find an English expression that is as devoid of meaning as the Swedish original! Maybe "scenario" would come closer to the ubiquitous Swedish "miljö".

I thought of it as a combination, as a display and almost like setting a stage.

Could that work?
Example sentence:

A setting, occasion, or medium for exhibiting something or someone especially in an attractive or favorable aspect

I can't tell if this expression is widely used or not, but in my reference it is used extensively in what seems to be an in-depth discussion of this (or a resembling) subject.

ambience

I understand upplevelsemiljö to mean an environment that makes a person feel and experience the environment in one way or another.
"Ambience" would seem to fit.

As for your particular sentence - "Hon arbetar med upplevelsemiljöer på..." - I would propose: "She works with creating ambiences at..."
