: That is what it was called in the UK in the 1970s and no I didn't attend as a delinquent! I was too old ;-)

Never mind, Jim. You can always be a senile delinquent when you get older.

Juvenile Court
Ciao,
Ciao e buon lavoro,
Loredana

Family Court
Think this might work better, for the reasons I discuss above.
Juvenile Court, as Oona's reference shows:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Juvenile_court
is for juvenile offenders. If we are talking about adoption, this seems inappropriate.
Family Court also gets 1,700,000 googles....

Youth Court
Talk about the juvenile court in England and they will understand you - but my suggestion is the 'official' recognised term, I believe. And it is the term my criminal solicitor former colleague uses when referring to this court. So it may be preferable to 'juvenile', depending on your reader audience.

Adoption court/ Court which deals with adoptions
If the purpose is adoption then maybe the name should reflect this concept.
for adoption court see:
http://www.google.it/search?hl=it&client=firefox-a&rls=org.m...
from the site below it seems that different courts deal with this issue in different states so this may be the best way to deal with it
http://family.findlaw.com/adoption/adoption-guide/adoption-c...
where it says :
Examples of Jurisdiction
State courts are organized in a hierarchy of courts of original jurisdiction, which is the level at which cases are first heard, and appellate courts, which hear cases that have been appealed from lower courts. The names given to these courts vary from State to State. All adoption cases commence with a petition filed with the appropriate court of original jurisdiction.
The types of court designated as the court of original jurisdiction reflect the organization of the State court system, and the names can include:
* Circuit court (Arkansas, Florida, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, Oregon, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin);
* District court (Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Wyoming, American Samoa, and Puerto Rico);
* Superior court (Alaska, Arizona, California, Georgia, New Jersey, North Carolina, Washington, and Guam);
* Probate court (Alabama, Connecticut, Indiana, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Ohio, and Vermont )
* Family court (Delaware, Hawaii, New York, Rhode Island, and South Carolina)
* Juvenile court (Colorado, Louisiana, and Minnesota)
Some other names used are equity (Maryland), chancery (Mississippi), court of common pleas (Pennsylvania), county (Nebraska), trial (Northern Mariana Islands), territorial (Virgin Islands), and court of first instance (Puerto Rico).
